Emma and her best friend, Jackie, stand side by side in graduation robes and caps. As Jackie is called to the stage to receive her diploma, Emma remembers meeting her friend for the first time. As if it was yesterday, Emma sees the leaves dancing across the playground as a little redheaded girl rushes after a hat. Soon, she is joined by another little girl with hair so black it's almost blue. Together they chase the hat until one of them is able to grab it, and then they both collapse in a heap of giggles. Shaking her head, Emma watches Jackie hold her diploma above her black hair as the friends smile widely at each other.
