Both of these early civilizations (Mesopotamia and Egypt) were very much similar in their social structure.

Both of them were laid great stress and emphasis on fertility and agriculture both in their Religions as well as in their social structure, both were dependent on agriculture. The agricultural needs were mainly served by the rivers in these ares.
