Hector St. John description of America as a melting pot was very accurate.

Melting pot is a form of metaphor that is used to describe a society in which different types of people from different cultures blend together and exist as one.

Hector described America as a melting pot during the late 18th century. During this period, different types of people form different nations and cultures of the world can be found in America. It is not strange to find families, in which the father and the mother originated from different nations and the children in the family get married to spouse from diverse countries. Thus, America then experienced a mixing of different forms of cultures, customs, religions and ways of life. All these merge together to produce a new and unique form of culture that can only be found in America.
