The media's depiction of Frankenstein is totally inaccurate compared to how Frankenstein's appearance was stated in Shelley' original work. Most movies and artwork depict Frankenstein as a green skinned, inarticulate monster. This really contrasts with how Mary Shelley developed his character because in her book, Frankenstein wasn't inarticulate at all. He spoke in coherent sentences and was very knowledgeable. He also had long black hair and actually had yellow skin as opposed to green skin
