Hush Tom never mind it, for when your head's bare, You know that the soot cannot spoil your white hair. In "The Chimney Sweeper" by William Blake, why does the speaker say Tom's hair is better off shaved? because his hair will grow back longer because soot will no longer get in it because he will no longer have to comb it
