Stoicism was a school of philosophy that was popular in Hellenistic Greece and was popularised (so to speak) by Seneca, Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius. Existentialism on the other hand, is the work of late 19th-20th C philosophers such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus and Friedrich Nietzche (pronounced knee-cha).
