How would the book be different if harper lee had not used flashback? Or did not have the two plots? How would it affect the ending? The overall meaning? (from to kill a mockingbird)

We wouldn't understand what happened to jem. we wouldn't understand the story line because we would be missing information crucial to the story. we wouldn't know what actually happens which would effect our ideas about the ending. we wouldn't have know that there was a racial aspect of the story, we wouldn't understand scouts relationship with her father.
