Foreshadowing is when the author gives hints to the reader about events that will happen later in the book. So, in "Animal Farm," you can discuss the fact that shortly after the supposedly egalitarian farm is created, the cows' extra milk mysteriously vanishes, and it is implied that Napoleon (whose name even foreshadows dictatorship) is the one who drank it (end of Chapter 2).
