In The Tempest, how are Stephano's and Trinculo's reactions to Caliban the same

his relationship with Stephano, Caliban is deemed more pathetic than in his relationship to Prospero. He lets go of his rebellious attitude and he willingly becomes a slave to Stephano, who is know as a drunkard and a buffoon, Caliban shows himself to be in a pathetic state. The strong and vicious curses that he had sent to his old master Prosphero are replaced by requests to lick the shoe of Stephano.
