Environmental degradation is important because when natural resources are depleted our ecosystem suffers. Environmental degradation has caused fresh water to deplete. In order to survive, vegetation needs water to produce oxygen. All living creatures need water survive, and therefore as the environment is degraded, so, life suffers.
