    I agree with the person above - the word that best describes the tone of this stanza is regretful.

    The speaker himself says that he is sorry due to the fact that he cannot travel both roads in front of him. This means that he regrets having to choose just one path instead of both.

    Regretful, because he wanted to travel both, but couldn't. (Hint: he also said "sorry")
