Compare mitochondria and chloroplasts. why are they referred to as energy transformers?

    Mitochondria are the "powerhouse" of animal cells. It is the main location of cellular respiration. Chloroplasts have similar functions. They hold the chlorophyll in plant cells and they are where photosynthesis occurs. Cellular respiration and photosynthesis are the two reciprocal energy transformation equations.
