In an ecological pyramid what happens to energy and biomass and number of species as you go up

    The number of species decreases and the biomass increases because one animal eats the smaller animal, and thus gets bigger. The energy is just absorbed into the new animal and stays there or is used to hunt new animals until it is eaten.
