With the current growth rate of many European countries the population of Europe in 2050 would be smaller than that of today, hence the statement is false. Many European countries are experience negative population growth rate and this is specifically true for countries with bigger population such as Germany, Italy, Russia etc. Even with the countries with a positive population growth rate, it is only around 1% or less. This leads to a very fast aging average population which is bound to have even reduced growth rate in coming decades leading to 2050. As per an estimation the population of Europe would peak in 2020 at around 740 million and would start a decent and would be around 706 million in 2050. The trend can only change if there is a drastic measure by the local governments to encourage higher growth rate or an unforeseen amount of immigration.
