The distance from the earth to polaris is approximately 5.78 * 1018 m. the speed of light is 2.99792 * 108 m/s. if the north star polaris were to burn out today, in how many years would it disappear from our vision? answer in units of years.

    V = d / t

    t = v/d

    -> 2.00 * 10 ^ 10 s

    divide by 3600 and by 24 to get days

    ->232414 days

    divide by no of days in a year

    giving 636 years approx.
