    The three common states of matter are liquid, gas and solid.

    They appear in different temperatures. For example, water is solid under 0 Degrees Celcius and Gas over 100 Degrees Celcius. Different materials change their states at different temperatures, and for examples metals become liquid in much higher temperatures.
