The political geography is affected by the physical geography because it sets its basis for acting in practice.

    Explanation:

The political geography is mostly based on creation of foreign policies based on the natural resources and the natural characteristics of an area. This practically means that the physical geography with its characteristics drives and guides the political geography as the natural resources and natural characteristics of a place fall into its domain.

Some places are of great importance and interest for the political geography, while some are not so much. For example, the Middle East is of great interest, and the reason for that is the vast amount of oil and natural gas. On the other hand, the Sahara is not of some particular interest, and the reason for that is that it is not well researched and so far it hadn't shown that it has any large amounts of valuable resources, though that might change in the future.
