Why did Galileo's observations of moons orbiting Jupiter disagree with the theory of the universe accepted up to that time in history?

    they thought the earth was the center of the solar system, not the sun.

    Explanation:

    the moon's orbited Jupiter and not around earth so this broke that theory.
