    intense rain or an earthquake

    Explanation:

    The options are

    intense rain or an earthquake

light breezes or a flowing stream

    heavy snow or continuous sunlight

icy conditions or ground surface melting

Landslide is said to be the mass movement of rocks, soil and debris along a slope. The downward movement of this material are usually influenced by gravity. Gravity is the driving force behind landslide. Landslide are more rapid movement of rocks, soil or both.

Generally, slopes are unstable and their are numerous events that could trigger landslides. Notably, heavy rainfall and earthquakes.

Intense rainfall causes the soil to be saturated with water, it becomes less viscous and more likely to slide downward. Intense rainfall is likely to fill the pore spaces of the soil or rock causing it to move down the slope. Generally heavy rainfall triggers landslide as the water increases the pore pressure of the soil, rocks or debris. The particles get easily disintegrated and later slide downward.

Earthquake which is the shaking of the earth surface can also trigger landslide. An unstable slope (steep or vertical slope angle) can easily experience landslide when earth quake occurs.

    Intense rain

    Explanation:

Continuous and heavy rainfall can be disastrous, people that dwell at the hilltop and mountain region are prone to landslide due to intense rainfall that can rain for days. Most of the settlers there mostly build their apartment at floodpath or rainpath which will increase the likelihood of landslide incident.
