    A cartogram is a map with a thematic mapping layer such as travel time, population and GNP or land area or distance. The geometry of the space is distorted sometimes to extremely and sometimes due to display analysis. Cartograms area is referred to as a value-by-area map done through the scaling of the area in each country in proportions. An area cartogram must be contiguous and noncontiguous. These cartograms must be classified by properties of shape and topology preservations. Nowadays several geographic software like CAD type software like GIS is used for making this type of projection. Cartograms can also be made through the hands and by a block diagram, constructed by arranging the geometric regular size locks.
