    2-Also known as the Primary wave, this kind of wave is the fastest to propagate, may travel through solids such as granite mountains and liquids such as bodies of oceans and magma under earth's crust.

    3-Surface waves are limited to being propagated just on surfaces, may move the ground in an S pattern but with no apparent vertical displacement. They may be particularly damaging to infrastructure such as buildings and housing.
