    Answer and Explanation:

    1. The time starting at midnight to the noon, the third quarter moon can be seen by a person on Earth.

The third quarter phase of the moon rises at the time of midnight due to the waxing and waning phase of the moon and the relationship that exist between these and the sunlight which illuminates the surfaces of both the sun and the moon.

    2. During day time, prior to noon, the waxing crescent phase of moon appears as it is visible in the day sky.

This phase appears clearer at the time of the sunset and sets prior to midnight.

This phase of the moon occurs after new moon since, it is seen after the conjuction of new moon and as the phases are related to the sunlight illumination so based on it and its occurrence after new moon make it visible in the sky during daytime.
