    M = 5.515

    Explanation:

    The magnitude of an Earthquake can be calculated by the following formula -

    M = log (I / S)

    Where,

    M = magnitude

    I = Intensity

    S = standard earthquake intensity i. e 10 ⁻⁴

    Hence,

    To calculate the magnitude of the earthquake of intensity = 32.75,

    The above formula is used as -

    M = log (I / S)

    M = log (32.75 / 10 ⁻⁴)

    M = log (32.75 * 10⁴)

    M = log (327500)

    M = 5.515

    Hence, the value of magnitude is 5.515.
