What is meant by the event horizon? Do you get ripped apart at this location or well before it? Explain.

Define "singularity" and what the conditions are like at 1 millimeter from the singularity.

    Event horizon -

    It is considered as a boundary near a black hole where light or any kind of radiation can not pass through. Or in simple words, it is a boundary of a black hole where a light can not escape due to very high gravitational force. Actually it limits a black hole and draws a boundary for it. Here the escape velocity is almost same as the speed of light. Thus, a black hole is marked with the boundary beyond which nothing is visible and this surface is called as event horizon.

    If you try to go near to a blackhole, when you are at more distance, you will get ripped apart slowly but as you go very close to it, you will be torn instantly. But it also depends upon size of a black hole. If the black hole is big enough like a star, you will be ripped apart soon suddenly, even before reaching the event horizon.

    Singularity -

    Singularity lies at the center of the black hole whose space is extremely small but mass is extreme. In singularity, the density and gravity is so huge that it becomes almost infinite and no physics law in applicable there. When you are only 1 mm away from such singularity, we can not even imagine what would happen since you will be totally ripped apart without any remains.
