Why did Great Britain claim colonies such as India

    Britain is a VERY VERY BAD PLACE for agriculture

    It needed colonies with very good agricultural farming land so that it could grow crops/materials and sell them to make profit

    Also England wanted power and status so it decided to show off by taking large amounts of land also that could be used for warfare
