Inside the Roche Limit is where large moons form. ring systems cannot exist. hydrogen can only exist in its liquid metallic form. large moons are torn apart. there is a gap in a planet's magnetic field.

    It is minimum limit upto which any satellite, or other celestial body would be able to maintain its gravitational force of attraction.

    Thus, it can even destroy large moons that comes inside the Roche limit.
