Tom hatches an evil plan to catch Jerry by placing mouse traps all over the room. Each mouse trap is 15cm long and 10cm wide. The room is 5m long and 3.6m wide. Tom places 1000 mouse traps in the room. How much room does Jerry have left to walk?

    Explanation:

    area of each trap = L * B = 15 cm * 10 cm = 0.15 m * 0.1 m = 0.015 m²

    total area occupy by trap = number of traps * each area = 1000 * 0.015 m² = 15 m²

    area of the room = 5 m * 3.6 m = 18 m²

    amount of room remaining for Jerry to walk = 18 m² - 15 m² = 3 m²
