    Chemical sedimentary rocks are rocks that are formed as a result of precipiation of minerals from solutions. The solutions are usually derived from dissolved loads during erosion. When they get to basins where they settle and more materials are dissolved, the solutions becomes supersaturated. This implies that the solvent contains more than enough solute it can normally dissolve. In this regard, the solution would begin to crystallize and precipitates will form from the solution.

    Examples of such rocks are gypsum, limestone, anhydrite, sylvite
