If police believe that a juvenile has committed an illegal act, then the law allows them to take the juvenile into custody. A person is only considered a juvenile if he/she is a minor above 10 years old and generally below 18. Underage can also be applied to people above the age majority, but below a certain age limit such as drinking, marriage, smoking, driving, or voting.
