AZ conglomerate is known for being a clastic rock ie a rock made up of particles of rock and mineral broken off from larger masses of rock, and the presence of mostly sand, pebbles and cobbles welded together into a rock by such things as silica or calcium carbonate cement in the matrix. If the clasts are all of the same composition, it is called oligomictic and if of variable composition it is called polymictic.
