Name the two factors that give federal courts jurisdiction over a case. Give an example of each.

    The two factors that give Federal Courts jurisdiction over a case are if it arises over a federal law or if there is diverse citizenship over the parties. For example if a company sues another over a patent - this would be over a federal law. If two parties are diverse, an example of this would be if a texas company sues a minnesota company. They are in two separate states, therefore, it would be a federal court jurisdiction.
