Explain why three seismograph stations are needed to determine the location of an epicenter

    Three seismograph centers are needed to locate the epicenter because each of the seismograph centers give you a general area of where the epicenter is. When you have three seismograph centers it is called triangulation, wherever the three centers meet is where the epicenter is located.
