The african elephant is threatened due to poaching, but also Asian elephants are endangered.

Yes, both species are endangered because of their tusks made of ivory. Ivory is very used in the fabrication of bracelets, necklaces and earrings, which are then sold to tourists who are crazy about these objects and pay a high price for them
