Why don't earthquakes on transform faults trigger tsunamis? quizlit?

    If the plate movement is upwards, for example as in a subduction zone, then it will displace the water as it shifts during an earthquake, resulting in a tsunami. If the plate is moving sideways (transform boundary), then no water is displaced and there is no tsunami
