Flappers rebelled by wearing loose cut sleeveless dresses with much shorter hemlines, thus baring far more flesh than the many layers of the traditional corset dresses. Flappers cut their hair into short styles called "bobs" that came just below the ears. They donned dramatic makeup with bold but thin eyebrows, thick black eyelashes and dark red or plum shades of lipstick. The attitudes and styles of the Victorian Age for women was very conservative, wearing little to no makeup, keeping their hair long put pulled back in a bun usually. The Flappers rebelled further by exploiting and unabashedly owning their sexuality. Not to mention drinking and dancing in public places alongside the men.
