At first the religious officials believed that the many issues regrading independence arose regarding the difference in religions between various types of Christianity and that it was because of the feud between congregationalists and presbyterians. Many of the minstrels and priests supported the king since he was the one who represented religion of England, but eventually many joined the revolutionaries because they believed that America might become a great country for Christ to visit when he comes back.
