What was the job of the Committees of Correspondence?

The job of the Committees of Correspondence was to generate popular support for colonial resistance and weaken the authority of the British at the town level. A number of Committees of Correspondence were established throughout the original 13 colonies to create solidarity against what was considered as British tyranny.
