Why were certain foods rationed during World War II? They were expensive to produce. They were not essential. They were unhealthy. They were nearly impossible to produce.

    They were nearly impossible to produce.

    During WW2, the Germans attacked farms and they blew up ships delivering food. Because of that, food was harder to get a hold of. Governments had to put rations on foods in order to conserve them.
