Was paine right to say, "europe and not england is the parent country of america"? why should that concept be considered a factor for separation?

    That is because the people in the colony were not only British subjects but were people from all over Europe and the dominant culture that was perceived as British was European through it's Greek and Latin origin. The country had many European citizens and many European cultures.
