How does the fourteenth amendment extend the protections of the fifth amendment

Fourteenth Amendment: Basically stating that anyone born in the US is in fact a United States citizen.

Fifteenth Amendment: Basically say's no matter what race or color you are allowed to vote (of course if your above the age of 18)

Really what it extends is the protection of the people and the plurality system of the electoral process in which candidate is to become president.
