What contacts did most plains Indians have with white people before 1850

Their contact with the whites mainly consisted of interactions with various explorers and expeditions that came to the US from the 16th to 18th century. As they were nomadic and thus moved a lot they met the explorers who would later put their experience of meeting them and their lifestyle of living to paper.
