Portuguese activity in slave trading in Africa has significantly increased around 1445 shortly after Portuguese navigators discovered and settled the Cape Verde islands (opposite Senegal). Portuguese did not face any competitors when acquiring slave from this region and managed to supply a lot of slave workers to their colonies

The European Portuguese imported millions of Blacks to Brazil to live a good life ... they didn't make them slaves in Brazil when they got there, they had equal rights.
