The conflict most closely associated with events in Nanjing, Dunkirk, and Hiroshima is 3. World War II. During that war, the Japanese invaded and killed many Chinese in the Chinese city of Nanjing as they sought to increase their control of East Asia. Dunkirk was a period in World War II where British forces efficiently evacuated troops and civilians from Dunkirk in lieu of the coming German army. Towards the end of the war, the United States dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima killing thousands of Japanese civilians.
