How was the government's response to the controversy at "ole miss" similar and or different than its response to the little rock controversy in 1957?

    The Ole Miss desegregation and the Little Rock 9 were very similar in terms of the federal governments response to these situations.

    In bot scenarios, the federal government used military forces to ensure that African-American citizens were able to attend these schools. James Meredith was escorted by US Marshals onto Ole Miss's campus while the Little Rock 9 were escorted in by the US National Guard. This shows that the federal government was dedicated to enforcing the ruling in the Brown vs. Board of Education decision.
