Why did ghana became an important crossroads for trade?

    Ghana was located between the Sahara salt mines and gold mines near the West African coastal rain forests. The farmers of Ghana were blessed with fertile soil. They used iron tools for farming and produced enough food. Gold and Copper were traded in Ghana.
