Why did Truman put limits on MacArthur? He was protecting his position as commander in chief He was being careful of the defense funds allocated by NSC-68 He was avoiding a third world war. He was unhappy that MacArthur moved north of the 38th parallel. He was unhappy that MacArthur was more popular.
