How did the success of the Continental Army in the South contribute to the American victory?

    I don't exactly know which battle you mean, but the battles of Cowpen and Yorktown stopped British momentum and Yorktown declared a major victory that would soon bring the end of the Revolutionary War, due to the surrender of a substantial portion of the British army in the Americas. Both these victories were by the Continental army in the south.
