    The main motivator of the conflict between Federalists and Centralists in Mexico was the rise to power of President Anastacio Bustamante. He, on assuming, centralized the entire government, ignoring the Constitution of 1824 and removing the political powers from the states. Thus, one of the most important political disputes of Mexico was born, which extended even to Texas.
