Give at least two reasons why the articles of confederation were inadequate to meet the needs at the time.

The Articles of Confederation created a unicameral government with Congress as the sole governing body. However, Congress had little power to tax, which led to an inability to raise funds. It also did not have the power to regulate trade among states or to make the states obey the laws it made.
