    Tensions between the german reich and the allied forces grew from 1933 german elections to 1939 invasion of poland including everything from the remilitarisation of the rhine/alsace lorraine to the austrian anschluss to the annexation of chekoslovakia

    The initial spark however was the invasion of poland
